Podia and Sandran commissioned the Ikuntji Artists Group to curate and deliver an Urban Art response to the Cark Park Facade. Ikuntji is a member-based, not for profit, Aboriginal art centre. It is situated in the community of Haasts Bluff (Ikuntji), and has a board of seven Indigenous directors all of whom live and work locally.
The proposed large-scale exterior mural will feature the bold, eye-catching and distinctive work of female Indigenous artist, Keturah Zimran. Zimran is fast becoming recognised both nationally and internationally her idiosyncratic and contemporary style, with works featured in exhibitions, art awards and private collections world-wide. In her work, Zimran captures the distinctiveness, beauty and strength of the Australian outback through bold shapes and earthy hues. She tells the story of intergenerational knowledge and culture and connection to country.
