Ben Boyd Road
Neutral Bay NSW
The Project
Podia has partnered with award winning architects MHNDU to reimagine a new urban design response for the site. The proposal seeks to revitalise two existing residential buildings with one modern, architecturally designed flat building which compliments its surrounding context and maximises amenity to all units.

The site has sweeping views to the South & South-East capturing the Sydney Headlands and The Harbour Bridge. To the West the site has aspect to North Sydney CBD and Forsyth Park.
Project Type
High-End Residential
Completion Date
Late 2024
The proposal seeks to consolidate the two parcels into a single site. The proposed six-storey building is split between two massing blocks, reducing its perceived bulk and scale from the street. The proposed development is 23 apartments with premium level amenity. At the ground floor and level one a highly articulated sandstone base provides ‘sheltered alcoves’ for residents, serving as outdoor spaces with view aspect whilst maintaining visual privacy from Ben Boyd Road.

The upper level apartments are expressed through a minimal palette of rendered concrete and off-white brickwork. Projecting leaves create a strong horizontal language whilst scalloped vertical walls achieve visual privacy.

The split form minimises the site coverage, and a series of setbacks reduce the overall massing envelope and maintain existing view corridors.
